Walking Tour - a free and fun way of enjoying Batanes

Batanesly speaking, it isn't far. Note though that this is Batanesly speaking.

Come on... use that strong and beautiful legs and feet of yours. It is worth it. Although you may opt to rent a bicycle but think of those hills first before you decide.

Walking is the best way to enjoy the place because you will get to do and discover what others could not do while inside the van. In our case, we checked in at the Marfel's Lodge, hence the North Batan's most visited sites are accessible to us by walking. But, Batanes is stunning everywhere and wherever you go there would be no disappointments. We also have our walking discovery in Sabtang, however this post covers places in the North Batan only.

We've walk around Basco center, observing people and noticing things. The first in many highlights of our tour was visiting the Santo Domingo Cathedral in Basco to give our sincere thanksgiving for being there and asking for blessings of joy and learning for the rest of our stay. This is effective guys, we really had a great time in Batanes.

Ivatan knows how to take good care of their place. They continuously plant more trees for the next generation. No one is too weak or too old, everyone has fair share of responsibility in taking good care of the environment. Women, men and senior citizens are here in this site to help grow new trees. And kudos to the government of Batanes for the support given to the people.
