Dipnaysuhwan Japanese Tunnel

This five-door tunnel is one of the reminders on the dramatic history of the Philippines. It served as a refuge and a lookout point for the Japanese soldiers during the Japanese occupation in the Philippines.

Today, this is one of the most visited site in Batan and in fact part of the North Batan Package Tour.

From the Valugan Boulder Beach we walked all the way to this tunnel and getting lost was included. Actually, it is very easy to find, only in our case, we were very confident that we understood the instructions well but due to memory lapse probably we've gotten confuse along the way. But, it was a nice walk and indeed a very rare experience. We were walking under Storm Signal No. 2 and yet the view was astounding.

We arrived at the tunnel and once again this place seems reserved just for us. We were the only visitors and the woman guard was very please to tour us around.

I have some photo souvenirs below of our visit. It was cold inside the tunnel, I didn't have enough personal light at hand so if ever you visit bring your own flashlight and lots of courage so you can descend to the lower part of the tunnel.

' til next travel memories :)
